Do You Know What The Symptoms Of Diabetes Are

June 20, 2011 | Author: | Posted in Health and Fitness

Identifying the chief indicators of diabetes can help you avoid complications with the sickness. Unfortunately a great number of symptoms that present themselves outside of the body for diabetes are also signs of other illnesses.

This can cause a lot of misdiagnoses before correctly identifying it and a course of action is chosen upon. Still, being able to recognize the primary signs of this sickness can save you a great deal of time. When you discover one of the symptoms listed in this article, consult with your physician and ask to be tested.

One of the most highly visible signs of diabetes is extreme tiredness. Yes, fatigue is a sign of an array of issues.

At times, it can be an indicator of a major sickness. For other times, it easily means you need to take more time for sleep. However, when it is happening because of diabetes, the fatigue is outrageous. Someone having to manage this type of tiredness probably gets more than enough sleep at night and, even if they are not very active, will often times feel totally drained. This is the kind of sleepiness that is often associated with mononucleosis and can be just as much of a hindrance. Keep track of your energy levels. If you don’t see any reason why you’re feeling so dang tired, consult your medical professional and see if they’ll do some testing.

Excessive thirst is one of the diabetes indicators that are well known. Thanks to books where popular characters share about their diabetes diagnosis, many people equate excessive thirst with diabetes. Every individual becomes thirsty. Excessive thirst is when, even if you are drinking tons of water – more than recommended daily amount (64 ounces) you still think you could be “dying” of thirst. Nothing can get rid of this thirst. If you undergo thirst like this, you should discuss it with your medical professional. It could be dehydration. More likely it is that something is screwing up your potassium level (which is one of the chief indicators of diabetes, as well).

The primary symptoms and signs of the onset of Type 1 are nausea, vomiting and dehydration. These typically take place when the body halts the production of insulin or the potassium levels get out of whack. Type diabetes, also called juvenile onset diabetes, happens because of genetics and heredity and not typically from factors that can be regulated. If your kid seems to have a stomach illness and is undergoing some different personality quirks, asking your doctor to have him or her tested for diabetes is a wise decision. A pediatrician will probably run a few preliminary tests anyway, just to rule the disease out. Diabetes signs can all be a bit different, but they can be forceful. The most pronounced indicators (the lack of insulin production) are complicated to discover without thorough medical testing. Other symptoms are easily recognizable. At the same time, many of the obvious symptoms of diabetes are also obvious symptoms of other problems and disorders. It is imperative for you to keep a watch over your body (and the bodies of your loved ones). You don’t want your illness to be diagnosed improperly. Ask for another opinion if you believe your own medical professional has misdiagnosed your or your children.
